On Saturday the 29th May 2010 a plaque commemorating Alf Morris was erected at Black Logs. Almost as a tribute to Alf Morris, Erica ericoides and Erica abietina can still be found, together with several other flowers in Alf's Garden, on the path up Vlakkenberg from the top of Price Drive.

In 1927 Andrew Trimble ran to the summits of Devil's Pk, TM, and Lion's Head to beat the original time set by C.W.Schneeberger in 1897 by some 2 hours. This and the original feat are recorded in the MCSA Journals and it motivated Don Hartley to institute an Annual 3 Peaks Challenge race.

Growing up in Natal she always loved the sea; mountains are a much more recent discovery, which she stumbled upon when she started a six-year stint of living overseas. Beginning with a Kilimanjaro climb, followed by a trekking holiday in Peru, hiking and walking has become an important part of staying fit, healthy and sane. She has been a member of the mountain club since 2007 but not a very active one, until getting involved in the Cape Nature project recently.
